I taught high school math for 45 years, mostly at Oberlin High School and for 11 years in the Lorain school system. Andy Thomas and I started the soccer program at OHS and I was the varsity coach for 26 years. I was the Annual Conference Coordinator for the Ohio Council of Teachers of Mathematics for seven years. I am currently the Religious Director at Agudath B'nai Israel Synagogue in Lorain, Ohio. We no longer have a Rabbi and my duties are the same as our previous part-time Rabbi. My wife, Kathy, andI will celebrate our 52 wedding anniversary in June. In June, 1970, I golfed in a foursome with Fred Shults, then family life and basketball discouraged me from golfing until 50 years later in 2020 when I restarted swinging a club.

Mathematics

I washed dishes at every dining hall and co-op on campus during the four years I was a student with the exception of the Hobart machine at Tank Hall. I came back after I graduated and washed dishes there one afternoon. I was headwaiter at Keep Cottage second semester of junior year. Keep became a co-op the following year. I was headwaiter at May Cottage senior year. I played soccer, basketball and ran track and I had a healthy social life, especially senior year and I had some excellent roommates during my four years. That pretty much sums up my college experience. Oh, I almost forgot - I went to classes, too.
