Walter Alan Buster, known to friends as Alan and to his Texas family as Pete, died on November 29, 2024 from a heart attack in his home. Born in Houston in 1945, he graduated from Oberlin College in 1967, finished his Doctoral Degree in English Literature at the University of Virginia, and went on to teach literature for 36 years. He worked extensively with the College Board and helped write and perfect the AP examinations in English language and literature.
