William E. Bickel died on May 19, 2024.

A native of Pittsburgh, Bill earned his BA degree in history at Oberlin, where he played football.  Then he returned to the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Education and spent 40 years teaching applied educational researchers and evaluators.

In 2015, Bill retired and moved with his wife Donna to Westborough, Massachusetts, 30 miles west of Boston, to be closer to their two grandchildren.  He had a winning smile and enjoyed making people laugh.
